Austins Ferry Early Learning Centre

Working with Xsquared Architects, Playstreet were engaged to develop the external spaces of a new early learning facility including an amphitheatre and nature based playground.

Playstreet designed a series of engaging play areas that connect with nature and the adjacent 24 Carrot MONA food garden and simultaneously form an extension to the internal teaching areas.

The concept is based loosely on a series of beehive spaces, reference to James Austin who was transported to Tasmania for stealing a beehive. A series of hexagons cascade down the hill, each hosting a different play nook.
