A stately original Georgian homestead, Acton Residence presented the opportunity to meld landscapes of old and new. Working in conjunction with Circa Morris-Nunn Architects, a modern courtyard responds to the sensitive addition to the house, while the greater landscape presented the opportunity to explore traditional landscape techniques and planting including the redesign of the entry and the planning of winter and summer gardens. Using a palette of weathered stone, timber and corten steel a series of gardens was designed to blend with the new and old and provide the clients gorgeous spaces to retreat to depending on the ever changing Tasmanian climate.
