Riverbend Parkland

Tasmania’s largest playground, Riverbend Parkland sits at the confluence of Launceston’s two major – where Cataract Gorge meets the Tamar River.

The playground has a huge variety of inclusive passive and active recreation and play spaces. It features the largest skywalk in the country which sits adjacent a huge nature based space termed ‘Wild Core’.

Other play areas include, River Play toddler area, Gorge Play and the youth zone, complete with huge open space, basketball court, hammocks and urban table tennis. The park also provides opportunity for parkour, multiple BBQ shelters and seating nodes.  A forest of advanced  trees overlay the site, underplanted with significant native and exotic gardens, to create a beautiful parkland environment.
